Japnese Musk Melon, Kyoto, Japan

The musk melon is grown only in Japan. They are often given as gifts when visiting someone in the hospital. They are grown in well controlled greenhouses and in 2012 sell for more than 10,000 yen. They come with a seal indicating the best date to taste.
